Introduction to the new National Library of China: The design of the new National Library of China embodies the concept of people-oriented and service-first. Its giant steel structure roof is like a "book", composed of "people" It is supported on a base full of strong Chinese cultural colors. An unsupported escalator 28 meters long and 13.45 meters high runs from the second floor to the fourth floor, making it easier for readers to enter and exit the reading room. The "Sikuquanshu", one of the four special collections of the National Library, is placed between the iconic atrium and the readers' reading area, extending from the underground floor to the above ground floor.
