Introduction to the first bay of the Yangtze River: The first bay of the Yangtze River is located next to the famous Shigu Town. It is named after a drum-shaped stone tablet carved in white marble in Shigu Town. The stele is 1.5 meters in diameter and 0.7 meters thick. It is a monument commemorating the victory of Bai Zhuang, the chieftain of the Mu clan in Lijiang during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. It is one of the earliest stone stele discovered in Lijiang. There is Tiehong Bridge on the left side of Shigu Town. The bridge uses 17-meter-long iron chains as beams, with wooden boards on top. Iron chains are used as railings on both sides. Gatehouses are built at both ends of the bridge. Shigu has always been an important trading center between Tibetan and Han areas. Tibetans brought furs and Chinese herbal medicines to sell here, and bought back tea, salt, cloth and other daily necessities.
