Introduction to the Dismounting Monument: The Confucian Temple was once listed as a "holy place", and there was a palace gate across the street that had been closed for many years. There are dismounting steles on both the east and west palace gates, with the words "Civil and military officials have dismounted here" written in Chinese and Manchu characters.
