The Xu Guangqi Memorial Hall in Shanghai was built to commemorate Xu Guangqi, a famous scientist in the Ming Dynasty, and to give his status in literature and history and modern scientific thought a "foothold". Xu Guangqi (1562.4.24-1633.11.8), courtesy name Zixian, nickname Xuanhu, Catholic holy name Paul, Han nationality, native of Fahuahui, Shanghai County (now Shanghai City), was a famous scientist and politician in the Ming Dynasty. When he reached Chongzhen, he served as the Minister of Rites, Bachelor of Wenyuan Pavilion, and Second Assistant to the Cabinet. The Xu Guangqi Memorial Hall is located in Guangqi Park at No. 17 Nandan Road, Xuhui District. It consists of a screen wall, a stele corridor, a side room, a hall, and a backyard.
