Shen Congwen is a famous Chinese writer, researcher of historical relics, and a representative figure of Beijing School novels. He not only published novels such as "Border Town" and "The Long River", but also wrote academic monographs such as "Bronze Mirrors of the Tang and Song Dynasties", "Lacquerware of the Warring States Period", and "Research on Ancient Chinese Costumes", and has written extensively. The former residence of Shen Congwen, located at No. 3 Fushan Road, Qingdao, was where he lived when he went to Qingdao University to teach in 1930. The famous novel "Border Town" was brewed here.

Shen Congwen's former residence is a three-story building. The whole building is light yellow and decorated with large pieces of glass, giving people a fresh and bright feeling. The trees in the former residence are green, the environment is peaceful, the stone steps and the ivy complement each other, making the courtyard extraordinarily quiet. The simple atmosphere provided a good environment for Shen Congwen's creation. During the two years here, he successively wrote famous works such as "Congwen's Autobiography", "Small Scenery under the Moon", "Memory of Ding Ling" and "Eight Horses". Novel; Ba Jin came here to visit in 1932, and also wrote the short story "Love" and wrote the preface to his novella "Sand Sand".
