Introduction to the tombs of the nobles of Yandu: At that time, the eldest son of Duke Zhao led his tribe and the Yin survivors to the Liuli River area. Because the rulers of the Yan State adopted a tolerant policy towards the Yin survivors, some customs of the Yin people were preserved. . Many of the tombs of Yin survivors in the Western Zhou Dynasty's Yanguo cemetery contain bronze lords, indicating that the Yin survivors still had the custom of drinking wine. The bronze ritual vessels buried in Zhou tombs also retain the combination of Yin survivors.
Since 1973, more than 300 tombs have been excavated at the site, of which 3/4 are merchant tombs. Zhou people are only a minority in Yandu. The tombs of various levels in the two cemeteries are scattered at random, rather than buried according to level. Even the large tombs of the Marquis of Yan are surrounded by small tombs of civilians. The museum displays two groups of noble tombs preserved at the original site and their accompanying chariot and horse pits.
