Introduction to Xiao Taoranting: To the west of the study courtyard is the West Garden, which was built in the 10th year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1860). The ground in the courtyard is dug into a pool, with a small wooden square pavilion named "Xiao Taoran" set up on a stone base in the pool. It is the main body and is accompanied by other scenic spots. It has the characteristics of southern gardens with small bridges, flowing water, pavilions, lakes and stones. Although this garden is small in area, its design is very unique and has the characteristics of southern gardens. The original trees, such as cloves, wolfberries, locust trees, mulberry apricots, pines and cypresses, were indeed rare at that time. There is a water pavilion in the center of the garden. Lotus roots are planted in the pool under the pavilion, and goldfish are stocked. The shadows of the trees are dancing and the grass is green.
