Introduction to the Teaching Cathedral: The teaching cathedral (magistral-catedral) is the place where the saints Justo and Pastor were crucified at the end of the 15th century, ordered by Cardinal Cisneros Today's teaching cathedral was built.
The cathedral belongs to the late Gothic style. Like the Church of San Pedro de Lovaina in Belgium, it is the only teaching church in the world, which was given by the Pope. At that time, all ordained priests were either teachers or university professors. Outside the church is a magnificent three-body bell tower built in the 17th century. Its interior consists of three halls and cross vaults. Under the main altar, an 18th-century silver box contains the statue of Saint Justo. and the remains of Pastor.
The church retains some of its ancient and rich heritage, such as the box containing the relics of San Diego, a gift from King Felipe II, the Holy Grail of Cisneros, and the precious Collection of paintings.
