Introduction to Basha folk customs: The flat spot on the mountainside next to the Basha Miao Village has been turned into a sacred Lusheng Hall, which is as big as half a basketball court. Most major sacrificial activities in the village are held here. The Basha people worship the sun god. Every time they gather, they play the reed. Men and women line up to face the rising sun. They step back seven steps before playing the reed and dancing. The men line up in a circle, holding large and small reeds in their hands. While playing, the body swayed rhythmically; the woman was on the periphery, holding handkerchiefs in both hands, constantly jumping and jumping to the rhythm. The sonorous and powerful ancient Lusheng music sounded like the horn of a charge on the battlefield.
The love between men and women before marriage is free and unrestrained, and they have no scruples. They use songs to make friends and convey love. During the spring planting and autumn harvest seasons, Basha's unique "girl-making" begins. Boys and girls each bring their own bamboo woven rugs and meet together to help plant rice and harvest rice. During the day, they went to work in the fields, and at night they gathered at the house of the helping host, drinking, singing, and hugging girls.
