Introduction to Baton Rouge: Baton Rouge is the second largest city in Louisiana and the fourth largest port city in the United States. France built a walled city here in 1719, which was later occupied by Britain and Spain respectively. In 1810, it was owned by the United States. It became the state capital in 1849.
