Introduction to watchtowers: The Qiang architecture is most famous for watchtowers, stone houses, cable bridges, plank roads and water conservancy weirs. The Qiang language calls watchtowers "Denglong", which was recorded as early as 2000 years ago. After the Tang Dynasty, the Qiang people migrated northwest to Tibet and Qinghai for various reasons, so the Qiang watchtowers are now also called Tibetan watchtowers. The height of watchtowers is usually between 10 and 30 meters. They are used to defend against enemies and store food and firewood. They come in four-corner, hexagonal, or octagonal forms, and some can be as high as thirteen or four stories.
