Introduction to white bone soil: White bone soil is a type of mangrove, commonly known as sea beans in Hainan Island. It is named because of its white stems. White bone soil has the ability to reproduce sexually with seeds and has a well-developed root system. The width of the horizontal root system distributed in the shallow layer of the soil is equivalent to 3 to 5 times of its crown, and can be up to more than 8 meters long. Its wide nutrient surface can widely absorb nutrients from the soil. It has well-developed finger-like aerial roots and is suitable for growing on barren sandy exposed tidal flats. Therefore, skeletal soil is called the pioneer tree species of mangroves.
