Introduction to Embassy Street: Dongjiaomin Lane was originally the location of the "Five Governments and Six Ministries" in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Later, the British, Russian, German, French and other embassies were successively established here. After 1901, it was changed to Embassy Street. Eleven countries including the United States and France have established joint administrative agencies in the alley, and have also opened Citibank of the United States, Credit Agricole of France, HSBC of the United Kingdom, Japan's Shokin Bank, churches, and hospitals.
