Introduction to Fuwang Pavilion: Fuwang Pavilion is located in the fourth entrance courtyard of Ningshou Palace Garden and is the main building of the courtyard. It was built in the 37th year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1772), repaired in the 7th year of Jiaqing reign (1802), and rebuilt in the 17th year of Guangxu reign (1891).
Fuwang Pavilion imitates the Yanchun Pavilion in the Jianfu Palace Garden in shape. It is square in plan, with two floors on the outside and three floors on the inside. There are spires at the four corners. Various types of interior decorations are used to cleverly separate the space. Decorated with gold, jade, enamel and other inlays, people often lose their way when crossing the door and threshold, so it is known as the "lost building".
During the Qianlong period, on the 21st of the twelfth lunar month every year, the emperor would reward rice to the princes and ministers here. Emperor Jiaqing also visited this pavilion and wrote the poem "Yong Fu Wang Pavilion". Fuwang Pavilion is the tallest building in the Ningshou Palace Garden. From it, you can have a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery inside and outside the Forbidden City.
