Bird's Nest Introduction: The National Stadium is located in the south of Beijing Olympic Park, on the east side of the central axis. It is nicknamed the "Bird's Nest" because its structure is made of tree branches. It was the main stadium for the 29th Olympic Games in 2008. The venue covers a total area of 21 hectares and has a construction area of 258,000 square meters. In 2008, the opening and closing ceremonies of the 29th Olympic Games and the 13th Paralympic Games, track and field competitions and football finals were held in the Bird's Nest.
