Introduction to Ruifuxiang: Beijing Ruifuxiang Silk and Cloth Store was opened in 1893 (the 19th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty). It is a Chinese time-honored brand well-known at home and abroad, and is the first of the "Eight Xiangs" in the old capital. The ballad that has been circulating in Beijing for many years, "The horse on the head gathers the source, wears Ruifuxiang, and the foot steps on the inner connection" is a vivid portrayal of Ruifuxiang's fame in the capital.
In the first year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty (1821), Ruifuxiang was listed on Zhoucun Street. In 1835, its first branch, Ruifuxiang silk and cloth shop, opened in Jinan. In 1876, he was only 25 years old at the time. Meng Luochuan, the head of Ruifuxiang, set his sights on Dashilan, the most prosperous business district in the capital. He invested 80,000 taels of silver to establish the Beijing Ruifuxiang silk and cloth store, and conquered the high-ranking officials in the capital. The birthday robe of Empress Dowager Cixi and the "imperial robe" of Yuan Shikai were both made by Ruifuxiang. Until the eve of liberation, Ruifuxiang Cloth Shop, which emerged from Zhoucun Old Street, was still the most famous silk shop in Beijing. In 1949, on the eve of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Premier Zhou Enlai appointed Rui Fuxiang to make the first national flag of the People's Republic of China, the five-star red flag.
