Introduction to the Seventy-Two Long Corridors: The divine kitchen, the sacred storehouse and the slaughtering pavilion of the Praying for Grain Altar are connected to the Praying for Grain Altar by a long corridor. The corridor is in the shape of a curved ruler from the east brick door to the slaughtering pavilion in the northeast. The seventy-two rooms correspond to the thirty-six pillars of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, symbolizing the seventy-two evil spirits.
