Introduction to the Great Zen Hall: The Great Zen Hall was built in the fifth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1577 AD) and rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. It is a place where monks in the temple give lectures and sit in meditation. There are three rockeries built behind the Grand Zen Hall, symbolizing Putuo, Emei and Qingliang Mountains. On the rockeries are the three halls of Avalokitesvara, Manjusri and Samantabhadra.
