General Lin introduced: On March 12, 1995, former Vice Chairman of the Military Commission Liu Huaqing and Zhang Zhen and Defense Minister Chi Haotian led 58 generals to plant trees in the park. Liu Huaqing and Zhang Zhen planted two tall Huashan pine trees and three whitebark pine trees. A total of more than 1,200 junipers, locust trees, locust trees, willow trees, toon trees, and poplar trees were planted during this tree planting, leaving a commemorative general forest in Xinglong Park.
