Introduction to Soma Wei: Soma Wei is also called Soma flower, which is the Yi people’s name for azalea. Soma Wei is a white marble sculpture. She is the goddess of flowers in the hearts of the Yi people. She wears a Yi headdress, has big eyes and smiles. According to legend, she is the daughter of the God of Heaven. In ancient times, the land where the Yi people lived was devastated and flooded. The God King Zhiga'alu spent three years filling the sky and nine years driving the sea to fill the water. But all the people in the tribe died, so the God sent the fairy Soma to the human world, married Zhiga Alu, and gave birth to children. When the world became prosperous, the God summoned Soma back to heaven. Soma was reluctant to part with her children and husband. Weeping day and night, they turned into cuckoos and filled the mountains and plains.
