Introduction to St. Martin's Cathedral: Among the many churches in Bratislava, the most famous is St. Martin's Cathedral. It was built in the 13th century AD in Baroque style and has a neutral channel. There is a statue of Saint Martin on horseback.
St. Martin's Cathedral was the place where Hungarian kings were crowned during the Austro-Hungarian Empire - from 1563 to 1830, 11 Hungarian kings and 8 queens were crowned here, including Maria Theresa Queen. Stone tablets engraved with the names of these kings and queens are still preserved in the church, and a crown of St. Stephen stands on the top of the church 85 meters high.
