Introduction to the Laba Arch Bridge: The Laba Arch Bridge is 64 meters high and 270 meters long. It is mainly built of Brazilian granite, lime, sand and fish oil. The bridge was built by black slaves and indigenous people from 1719 to 1752. Since 1896, a rail car track has been laid on the arch bridge and it has become a bridge connecting the second district. To this day, railcars are still the main means of transportation for the residents of Santa Teresa.
