Introduction to Kurje Lhakhang: According to legend, in the eighth century, an Indian king (Sinda Raja) was critically ill after his son died in battle. He was later saved by Master Padmasambhava. , converted to Buddhism after recovering from illness. To commemorate this event, he built this temple. It is said that Master Padmasambhava also practiced retreat here and left a backlight on a rock. This rock is closely protected by the temple. The temple is surrounded by 108 small stone pagodas. This is the place where the third king Jigme Dorje Wangchuck held his funeral.
