Introduction to the Sculpture of Empress Wu’s Excursion: The one surrounded by the sculptures of Empress Wu’s Excursion is Wu Zetian, the only empress in Chinese history. This group of sculptures is based on the “Queen’s Excursion” by Zhang Xuan, a lady painter of the Tang Dynasty. The blueprint is connected between Zhenguan Square and Kaiyuan Square. It inherits the rise of Zhenguan at the top and the prosperity of Kaiyuan at the bottom, and completely displays the atmosphere of the prosperous Tang Dynasty.
