Introduction to the rain-seeking stone: There is a flat stone in the stream at the entrance of the Tibetan Buddha pit, called the rain-seeking stone. It is said to be the place where the Sixth Patriarch meditated to pray for rain for the people of Xinzhou when he was alive. It was very effective every time. After the death of the Sixth Patriarch, whenever there was a drought, the villagers would take the Sixth Patriarch’s golden body (made of copper and gilded) and place it on it. They would ask the monks from Guoen Temple to recite sutras, and it is said that the results were equally effective.
