Introduction to the West Bian Hall: The West Bian Hall, also known as the Imperial Academy, a name given by the Japanese, is Puyi’s study room and the place where Puyi informally met with puppet Manchukuo officials and diplomatic envoys. On May 8, 1942, Puyi met Wang Jingwei here. Wang Jingwei had killed Puyi's father Zaifeng in 1911, but failed. Although they had the hatred of killing their father, with the strong help of the Japanese, they still shook hands and made peace, and jointly expressed their willingness to serve the Japanese. After the meeting, Puyi entertained Wang Jingwei and his party in the banquet hall next door.
