Introduction to the canal: Jinggang is a harbor and commercial port with a history of thousands of years of water transportation. It originated from water, prospered from water, and also declined from water. By the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, the shipping industry was becoming increasingly developed. Taking advantage of its natural port, Jinggang became the northern gate and safe haven for ships entering and leaving Changsha. Thousands of ships docked every day. Xiangyin, Yiyang, Ningxiang and local grain products were mostly distributed here. It was once one of the four major rice markets in Hunan, with merchants gathered and the market active. It was called "Little Hankou" at that time. There was a popular saying at that time, "When a ship arrives at Jinggang Port, it won't go away even if the wind blows", which shows its prosperity. In September 2008, Jinggang was rated as a "famous historical and cultural town in China". It has continued to be prosperous in the past and has become the new favorite of ancient town tourism.
