Introduction to the starting point of the Red Army's Long March: Changting Zhongfu Village was called Zhongwu Village hundreds of years ago. It was named because most of the villagers had the surname Zhong. Later, the villagers built Hakka-style enclosed houses here to live in, and the village became more and more popular. As it became more prosperous and became the center of the surrounding area, it was changed to Zhongwu Village.
In 1929, the Red Army invaded Changting City and renamed the village Hongwu Village; in 1934, when the Red Army moved during the Long March, the Nationalist Party captured the village and renamed it Zhongfu Village.
Zhongfu Village is famous not only for being one of the starting points of the Red Army’s Long March, but also, most importantly, for the Battle of Songmaoling. There is a "Guanshou Gong Temple" built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties in the village. It is the ancestral hall of the Zhong family. Every year, the Zhong family's sacrificial activities are held here. The Songmaoling campaign headquarters was located here.
