Pak Tai Temple Introduction: Pak Tai Temple is the oldest temple on Cheung Chau Island. The statue of Beidi has one foot on a divine turtle and the other on a spiritual snake, which represents supreme authority. On both sides of the altar stand two generals, Clairvoyant Eye and Shunfeng Er, while in the side hall there are statues of a blue dragon and a white tiger. There are many cultural relics preserved in Beidi Temple, including a gold and wood carving from the Qing Dynasty and a large iron sword said to have been cast in the Song Dynasty. It is said that the iron sword was collected by fishermen from the sea and used as an offering to Beidi.
