Introduction to prints: Hui-style prints are shaped using line drawing techniques, are gorgeous and exquisitely crafted, and originated from book engraving. They began in the Southern Song Dynasty, flourished in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, and gradually declined in the early Qing Dynasty. It is the artistic crystallization of the joint efforts of painters and woodcut artists. Its artistic style is detailed, delicate, elegant and quiet, and full of literati style. Famous Hui painters such as Ding Yunpeng, Wu Tingyu, Zheng Zhong and Xuezhuang in the Ming Dynasty all painted for woodcuts.
