Introduction to the Statue of Liberty: The full name of the Statue of Liberty is the "Bronze Statue of Liberty National Monument", and its official name is "The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World". It stood in the harbor of New York City, USA on October 28, 1886. Liberty Island, located near the mouth of the Hudson River, is known as a symbol of the United States and was created by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi. In 1984, it was included in the World Heritage List.
