Introduction to the main worship hall: There are still 850 stone pillars in the main worship hall. The main hall is divided into 19 north and south rows. Each row has a wing corridor with 29 arches. Each arch has two levels of horseshoe-shaped arches. The whole building The main hall is lined with jade pillars, criss-crossed arcades, and extremely luxuriously decorated.
These stone pillars are made of porphyry, jasper and marble pillars of various colors. They were either plundered from cities such as Nîmes in France and Seville in Spain; or they were presented as a gift to the Byzantine Emperor Leo IV. A gift to Rahman I, selected from the ruins of ancient buildings in Carthage.
