Introduction to the three halls: The three halls are also called the inner house or the upper room. This is where the Taotai and his family members live. The Taotai receives superior officials and meets with guests and friends. Here they often express an attitude. That is, intimacy, trust, and deep feelings. It consists of the upper room and the east and west wings. There is a plaque hanging on the door of the upper room that reads "Retreat and reflect on yourself". This is the Confucian meaning of "retreating and reflecting on yourself". It means that during leisure time, you should reflect on your actions and whether they are in line with the way of being an official and the righteousness of being a human being. There is a couplet on the doorpost. The first couplet is "The sea accepts all rivers, and tolerance is great". The second couplet is "Standing on the wall thousands of feet, no desire is strong", which means self-warning.
