Black-necked Crane Introduction: The black-necked crane is an endangered and rare species in the world and a national first-level protected animal. It is the only crane in the world that grows and breeds on the plateau. Tibetan people love the black-necked crane very much and call it "crane", "sacred bird" and "auspicious bird". The Black-necked Crane National Nature Reserve in Dashanbao was established in 2003. Its crane population accounts for about a quarter of the world's known black-necked crane population.
