Introduction to the Scott Memorial Tower: There is an extraordinary Scott Monument (Scott Monument) next to Prince Street. The tower is the remnant of an old church that suffered a fire. It looks very dark in color. Edinburgh has suffered many fires in history. A fire in 1824 caused many old buildings in the old city to be burned down. On December 7, 2002, another fire broke out in the "Cowgate Club" in the old city. Looking up from the Scott Memorial Tower, you can see Edinburgh Castle standing at the highest point in the Old Town.
