Introduction to the War Hall: The War Hall (Salon de la Guerre) is located in the northwest corner of the main building and west of the Apollo Hall. It faces the garden on the north and west sides, and leads to the Hall of Mirrors on the south.
The decoration in the hall was completed by Mensard and Le Brun, mainly oil paintings reflecting Louis XIV's conquest of Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands. Above the gilded fireplace is an equestrian relief of Louis XIV.
