Introduction to Dacheng Hall: Dacheng Hall is the main building of the Confucius Temple. It is the main hall for worshiping the ancestor Confucius. It was built in the early Southern Song Dynasty and has been repaired in successive dynasties. It is a typical Song Dynasty double-eaves verandah-style structure, representing the highest architectural specifications at that time, and is the only such building structure currently existing in Quanzhou. It is seven bays wide and five bays deep, with a space height of 9 meters. The main body of the palace is a wooden structure with brackets and raised beams, supported by forty-eight white stone pillars. The pillars have no carvings on their planes, and only the base of the pillars is a simple lotus seat with line carvings in a raspberry style, which is integrated with the foundation stone. Under the eaves of the front hall, there are two embossed gold pillars with a coiled dragon and six embossed pillars with a coiled dragon eaves. They are graceful and vivid in shape and simple in style, which are rare among existing Confucius temples in the country.
