Introduction to the Gelao Eating Festival: The "Eating Festival" is a traditional festival of the Gelao people in various parts of Guizhou. It is mostly held on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, and in a few areas on the sixth day of the sixth lunar month. On the festival day, every family buys meat and drinks, kills chickens and sheep, picks some early-ripening rice and rice from the fields to make new rice, and then makes dishes such as red beans and edamame to worship their ancestors.
