Introduction to the Old Fish Market: The Old Fish Market (Oude Vismarkt) was built at the 17th-century Baroque entrance to the square and is decorated with a statue of Neptune, the god of the sea. On both sides of the statue are a female statue symbolizing the Les River and a male statue symbolizing the Scheldt River. Now it has been converted into a high-end restaurant, and the entrance of the restaurant is the Ghent Tourist Service Center.
