Introduction to the 93rd Division: The former Kuomintang 93rd Division was affiliated to the Eighth Army of the former Kuomintang in Yunnan. During the Liberation War, due to defeat and no retreat, it had no choice but to enter the current Golden Triangle of Thailand, Burma and Yunnan, and fought with the former Kuomintang’s anti-Japanese expedition who were stranded there. The remnants of the army were merged into the 93rd Division. After 1949, the 93rd Division, unable to return to Taiwan Island, cowered in the Golden Triangle area, waiting for Chiang Kai-shek's "counterattack on the mainland" to make a comeback. And became the "lone army" and "remnant army" of the Kuomintang left on the mainland.
