War Memorial Introduction: Several monuments and commemorative sculptures of New Zealand soldiers stand on the square of the Government Garden. From the 18th to the 19th century, New Zealand collaborated with the British in participating in the Boer War in South Africa and sacrificed their lives at that time. Many soldiers were killed, and these monuments commemorate the soldiers who participated in the war and died in battle. One of the monuments has the words "1898-1902. Boer War".
