Introduction to the source of the Lijiang River: Maoer Mountain is the source of the Lijiang River. It originates from the alpine dwarf forest wetland of the Bajiao Field on the top of the mountain. The steep ridges of Maoer Mountain turn into a gentle platform at the top of the mountain, presenting a relatively typical river source landform and forming a rare southern mountain swamp landscape. The topography is extremely undulating, with criss-crossing streams in the mossy bushes, dense ponds, marshes and charcoal soil, which are soft and deep, storing millions of square meters of water.
