They need some time to waste and use sacrifices and celebrations to gain a taste of life. Around the Erhai Lake, there are more than a hundred festivals every year, and the Guanyin Festival is just one of them. Buddhism believes that Guanyin's birthday is February 19th of the lunar calendar every year. In ancient Dali, Emperor Xuanwu of the Nanzhao Kingdom, Shun Huazhen, regarded Acuoye Avalokitesvara as the founding saint of the country. The day when his ancestor King Qi witnessed Xiancuoye Avalokitesvara was regarded as the founder of the country. At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Therefore, every year February 19th of the lunar calendar is "Guanyin's birthday", June 19th is "Guanyin's practice day", and September 19th is "Guanyin's enlightenment day". During these three days, the Bai people generally hold the Guanyin Festival, and the most lively Guanyin Festival in Dali is the Guanyin Festival in Guanyintang. During the meeting, more than 100,000 faithful men, women, and Buddhist monks from Dali and neighboring counties came to burn incense and worship Buddha. The "Lianchi Hui" of old mothers from various Bai villages gathered in groups, holding magical instruments, chanting sutras and worshiping Buddha in the Bai language. They chanted and bowed at the same time. The sounds kept coming and going, incense and paper were burned, and cigarette smoke filled the air.
