Introduction to Baohan Hall: During the Longqing period of the Ming Dynasty, Chen Wenzhu, the prefect of Huai'an, obtained the old rubbings of "The Preface to the Sala Tree Stele in Huaiyin County, Chuzhou" written by the great calligrapher Li Yong of the Tang Dynasty from the home of the writer Wu Chengen. I loved this book so much that I specially built a hall on the east side of the second gate of Fuzhi. I copied the rubbings of the inscription on the wall of the hall by Wu Wanshan, a sculptor at that time, and named the hall "Baohan" in the hope of connecting with literati from all over the world. Let’s appreciate and protect this inscription together. Since then, Baohan Hall has become a place for welcoming and receiving guests.
