Introduction to Wuqiang New Year Pictures: New Year Pictures are festive artworks used by Chinese folk to decorate the living environment during the New Year. They emerged and developed along with the custom of celebrating the New Year. It originated from the door god of the Han Dynasty. In the Song Dynasty, there were workshops for printing New Year pictures with wood blocks. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, Wuqiang, Hebei Province was one of the largest woodblock New Year picture production areas in northern my country, where "every family dyed and every household painted". The exhibition selected 138 Wuqiang New Year paintings, which comprehensively demonstrated the artistic characteristics of Wuqiang New Year paintings. Their rich colors and rough lines have the traditional Yanzhao style and rich local flavor.
