Introduction to Dacheng Gate: Dacheng Gate is the last gate of the Confucian Temple. It is the top of the verandah. The door is five rooms wide, with three doors above it and bells and drum chambers on both sides. There are three Chubi in the front and back, and Danbi in the middle. The doors are vermilion in color, and each door is inlaid with ninety-nine and eighty-one door nails in accordance with the imperial palace etiquette. It is the highest among the etiquette, which shows the high architectural standards of the Confucius Temple. The threshold is very high, so those who intend to enter Dachengmen to visit the temple must be careful and behave appropriately, in line with the strict atmosphere of the temple. Dachengmen is closed during normal times, and people can only enter and exit through Jinshengmen and Yuzhenmen. This door can only be opened when large-scale activities such as rituals and sacrifices are held to show grandeur.
