Key West Lighthouse Introduction: Hemingway's former residence in Key West is located on Whitehead Street. Across the street is a tall lighthouse. The bright light from the tower alerted ships at sea that they were approaching land. Friends of Ernest Hemingway liked to say that the lighthouse light helped Hemingway find his way home from his favorite drinking spot.
