Introduction to Xiayuan Temple: Xiayuangu Temple was built during the reign of Emperor Ling of the Eastern Han Dynasty and flourished in the early Dazhong period of the Tang Dynasty. It is said that Linji Bodhisattva of Zen Buddhism came here from Mount Wutai to promote Buddhism, and the ancient building complexes of Shangyuan, Zhongyuan, Xiayuan and Peiyuan temples were gradually formed on, in and under the mountains of Tongshan. The newly built temple has a rigorous layout and coordinated proportions. It is located on the mountain and is scattered in heights. It has white walls and blue tiles, is simple and elegant, and has magnificent towers and pavilions. The roof of the single building has a gentle slope, far-reaching eaves, large brackets, and thick pillars. It mostly uses panel doors and straight coffin windows. The style is solemn and simple, with a distinctive Tang Dynasty architectural style.
