Pomegranate garden introduction: As the saying goes, "Pomegranates from Huaiyuan, pears from Dangshan, grapes from Xiaoxian, strawberries from Shuijia Lake", which shows the high popularity of pomegranates in Huaiyuan. Pomegranate originates from Persia and was introduced to my country in BC. The pomegranate grown in Huaiyuan was very famous during the Tang Dynasty. There is a poem to prove it, "Pomegranate seeds are newly covered with agate red", which refers to the agate seeds in Huaiyuan. This variety was once used as a tribute. It was given to Wu Zetian. After tasting it, Wu Zetian was delighted and named her "Many-Seed Beauty". Pomegranate is not only famous for its rare and delicious taste, but also has extremely high medicinal value. Li Shizhen recorded in "Compendium of Materia Medica" that pomegranate has the effects of moistening and astringent, repelling insects, stopping diarrhea, and treating eye diseases. The flowers and fruits of pomegranate can treat lung tuberculosis.
Every year in the fifth month of the lunar calendar, the pomegranate flowers are in full bloom, making it a good season for flower viewing. During the Mid-Autumn Festival on August 15th, there is also a pomegranate picking festival held on the farm.
