Introduction to Caozhou Peony Garden: This archway gate was built in 1982. It is both simple and elegant, and majestic and open. The columns are fully mortise and tenon structure, the eaves are angled, carved and painted, and they are magnificent. The pattern in the middle is a phoenix playing peonies. As we all know, the phoenix is the king of birds and the peony is the crown of flowers. The phoenix playing with the peonies means they are auspicious and wishful. The five gold-plated characters "Caozhou Peony Garden" in the middle of the gate are vigorous and powerful and were inscribed by the late famous calligrapher Shu Tong.
